Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

I hope and pray that this day finds you prospering and walking with the Lord. I certainly appreciate you taking the time out of your busy schedule to navigate through our humble website. I hope and pray that it is a blessing to you and yours!

My family and I came to The Mission on January 18th of 2004. Only God knows how much we appreciate this wonderful congregation of people. To be honest with you, it was not until this pastorate that we actually felt as if we were in God’s perfect will, as well as His perfect timing. It seemed that regardless of what we did, or what ministry we undertook, we did not fit. I had previously pastored 3 churches and had engaged in full-time evangelism for over 2 years, but was never totally satisfied with what we were doing. It wasn’t that we weren’t in God’s will, because we were. It just seemed as if we were in a perpetual state of transition, always preparing for something else. For instance, when we were evangelizing, we were in God’s will, but we felt as if God was positioning us for something greater. We feel as though everything that we have seen and experienced has brought us to The Mission, for such a time as this. I don’t know how long we will be at God’s Miracle Mission, but I do know that we are perfectly satisfied with our place here and have no desire to leave.

When we came to God’s Miracle Mission, it was a sight to behold. Many people said that it would never prosper again. The truth is - many didn’t want it to prosper. They talked about “The Curse” that was on it. They said that Ichabod was written on the door, and that the Spirit of God had departed from it. The enemy had fought with great success; Satan and all his cohorts had held the Mission down for many years.

There was only 5 members- and a dilapidated building that was in desperate need of repair. The roof leaked terribly; and the Sunday School rooms, my office and nursery were piled to the ceiling with junk. The fellowship hall, as well as the Sunday School room’s ceilings were caving in and, believe it or not, the carpet was duct taped to the sanctuary floor!

The restrooms were also in a horrible condition. The men’s side had no ceiling and no sheet rock on the wall, so the only thing separating the 2 restrooms was insulation on the men’s side and a thin sheet of paneling on the women’s side. There was 2 toilets on the men’s side but no stall separating them. Although there were 3 toilets in the women’s restroom, only 1 of them worked and to beat it all, one of them was pink! Not only were the toilets broken, there was no lighting in them. So, as you can see, the sisters restroom was in desperate need of help repairs.

There is a large parsonage sitting on the property, but it has endured such extensive termite damage, it is not possible for us to reside in it. The roof is shot, the floors are falling in, and the walls are horribly damaged by years of termite infestation.

Believe it or not, these are only a few of the problems that we faced when approaching The Mission.

Since then, by the grace of God, we have remodeled both bathrooms, the kitchen, fellowship hall and Sunday School rooms, as well as added a new Sunday School room. We now have new carpet on the floor and the roof is nearly complete. We have recently remodeled the entire sanctuary and are planning to stucco and repaint the outside.  Although there is much work that still needs to be done, God has blessed us in a mighty way!

On the spiritual side of things, we have approximately 40-45 members and are operating 6 Sunday School classes. We have a wonderful youth group that I am very proud of - they are exemplary young Christian men and women. In addition, our youth group has some of the finest young preachers I know of. The Lord has saved, sanctified, filled souls with the Holy Ghost, mended the broken, healed the wounded, restored marriages and done many miracles in our midst! Despite the gainsayers, despite Satan himself, our church is truly GOD’S Miracle Mission!

Sincerely,

Pastor Lamb
